    Data Analyst

    Washington, DC metro area

     

    For a large financial services client, we are seeking a Data Analyst, to work on a long term project to automate SAS applications relating to the calculation of earnings at risk.   

    Responsibilities

    • The Data Analyst will conduct data analysis and document data requirements for financial forecasting systems.  Candidate will identify and document data requirements, definitions, data dependencies and relevant business rules.
    • Develop data requirements through various methods including individual and group discussions, independent data analysis and by extracting from a suite of mathematical functions and code. 
    • Candidate will also develop data models, data dictionaries, event models, CRUD matrix, or other artifacts.
    • Engage with enterprise data governance to adhere to corporate data standards.  
    • Promote productive relationships between stakeholders and technology partners, providing clarity & ensuring processes are streamlined.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
    • 3+ years of experience as a Data Analyst
    • Experience working with CECL (Current Expected Credit Loss) Analysis
    • Advanced knowledge of SQL to perform data analysis and data profiling on Oracle and SAS (SAS datasets)
    • Experience in Data Scrubbing, Data quality, Data Mapping, profiling and Data validation in ETL
    • Knowledge of relational data modeling, Star Schema/Snowflake modeling, physical & Logical data modeling
    • Knowledge and experience in AWS, Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service), Redshift a plus
    • Will be part of a team to migrate MFCW from the legacy RDW DB to the MF future state data warehouse
    • Agile scrum/Kanban experience
    • Ability to document highly complex data processing
    • Ability to extract data requirements through various methods including individual and group discussions, independent data analysis and by extracting from a suite of mathematical functions and code.
    • Strong communication skills, able to persist effectively cross-functionally.
    • Prefer prior data experience in financial services.
