    Data Engineer, SAS with Python, 1+ year contract

    Washington, DC metro area



    For a large, mortgage-focused financial services client we are seeking a Data Engineer with strong SAS and Python for a 1+ year contract.  The Engineer will assist in the conversion of a significant SAS-based model to one written in Python/Spark.


    • Assist in converting a large model from SAS to Python/Spark.
    • Work with large datasets, machine learning tools, and complex workflows.
    • Communicate with stakeholders throughout the organization.


    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
    • 5+ years of expert-level SAS
    • 3+ years of significant experience with Python, including PySpark, Pandas and NumPy.
    • Must have solid grounding in software engineering fundamentals.
    • Must be comfortable working with large datasets, machine learning, and complex workflows.
    • Prefer experience with regression and machine learning techniques.
    • Prefer familiarity with the mortgage industry.
    • Prefer experience working with large datasets.
    • Must be a self-starter with strong communication skills
