The Oakleaf Group is seeking a Web Service Developer with strong software engineering experience in Unix and databases, to support our client on a project (likely 6-month initial term), to work on a large multi-functional application used across the organization.

 

The Developer will implement and maintain a mission-critical web application.  The initial development environment is Microsoft Windows .NET framework with a SQL database and Unix script backend.  It will be migrated to an AWS environment.   The application development will be performed using C#, Java, JavaScript and other related programming languages, so either Unix script (preferred) or Perl or Python experience is required.  The developer will participate in all the steps in the software development life cycle to create and modify the software, following Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, modify, or update code used by business units
  • Participate in the implementation of multiple web service applications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, Master degree is preferred.
  • 3-5+ years in the implementation of large-scale business critical systems / software applications in a Unix environment, using Unix script, Perl or Python.
  • 3-5+ years developing web service application using web development technologies such as C#, JavaScript, jQuery, ASP.NET, Entity Framework, Model-View-Controller, Angular, XML.
  • Desired: JAVA, database/SQL, C/C++; knowledge of AWS computing; experience building financial systems; experience in an Agile environment.
