SAS Unix Developer

For a large financial services client, we are seeking a SAS Unix Developer, to work on a 1 year or longer project to assist with the development team’s efforts to determine user needs and business processes that are automated by the application, participate in or review all the steps in the software development life cycle to create and modify the software, and follow Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Determine systems requirements and functionalities needed in large/complex development project.
  • Contribute to all phases of software development life cycle (SDLC) for financial modeling application components and systems.
  • Able to design and implement new back end application architecture for a financial process to integrate with existing modeling architecture framework.
  • Collaborate with other team members, business units, and user groups to identify impacts of changes or enhancements, estimate level of efforts, and provide inputs to project schedules.
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance testing.
  • Code and review coding done to SAS application upgrades, extensions, or other development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 5+ years in requirements analysis, design, development, and testing for software applications or systems in a UNIX/LINUX SASGRID environment.
  • 5+ years using, coding within SAS, SAS macro language with strong experience deciphering existing SAS code.
  • Experience with the Software Development Life-Cycle, requirements, design, and implementation.
  • Agile experience (Kanban preferred).
  • UNIX shell scripting/Python Command Line experience, highly desired.
  • Developers experience with financial statements/modelling highly desired.
  • Business knowledge with prior experience in financial industry.
