For a large financial services client, we are seeking an SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) to do automation testing for a 1 year or longer project to automate SAS applications relating to the calculation of earnings at risk.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct application automation and testing of systems.
  • Establish approach to evolve project from manual to automated testing
  • Architect automated testing frameworks/methodologies to support system quality and reliability.
  • Build and evolve test frameworks and methodologies to support quality and reliability of systems.
  • Work closely with engineering and product team to design/develop automated test methodologies under the direction of more senior staff, and test financial model application systems.

  • As part of a development team, contribute to the writing of actionable, testable product requirements in the form of user stories.
  • Develop and maintain test tools and frameworks to validate unit, integration and functional tests of the system.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 2+ years of related automated testing experience.
  • RDBMS knowledge (e.g., Oracle, MS SQL and MySQL) 
  • Java Development experience (Java interacting with SQL/Excel/Unix – execution and data)
  • Experience with Agile and Waterfall software development models.
  • Experience working with SQL, Unix Shell Scripting, Python.
  • Experience implementing test automation for enterprise applications (web, SOA, ETL, and backend)
  • Proficiency with open source automation tools (Selenium, Cucumber, Gherkin)
  • Proficiency with open source test frameworks
  • Proficiency with programming languages (Java, Groovy)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (Jenkins, Go)
  • Prefer experience with JAVA and SAS.
  • Prefer experience in financial services industry.
