Oracle Database Developer

For a large financial services client, we are seeking a Oracle Database Developer, to work on a 1 year or longer project to re-platform a major system.   

Responsibilities

  • Create logical and physical database design.
  • Design and development of ETL procedures.
  • Develop and tune SQL and PL/SQL code.
  • Design database packages and procedures.
  • Write ad-hoc queries based on schema knowledge for various application requirements.
  • Deal with complex data models and object relational database mapping.
  • Test and troubleshoot – test designs of new system to ensure smooth operations and fix any issues that arise.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
  • 5+ years developing Oracle databases (Oracle 9i/10g+, 11g+)
  • Nice to have Netezza or Redshift on AWS experience
  • Experience with TOAD, ETL, Unix/Linux (basic commands and shell scripting).
  • Experience extracting and summarizing data from a variety of data sources.
  • Knowledge of DB performance monitoring tools.
  • Experience interfacing with business users and understanding their requirements.
  • Experience of working with multiple projects/tasks and the ability to prioritize on the fly, supporting multiple teams within a business.
  • Experience in using Oracle PLSQL, strong documentation skills (Windows Office/Visio/CVS etc.)
