Unix Software Developer, with Unix Scripting, Perl or Python

The Oakleaf Group is seeking two Unix Software Developers with either Unix scripting (preferred) or Perl or Python experience to support our client on a project to work on a large multi-functional application used across the organization.


In this exciting project (likely 6-month initial term), you will work on a team to implement latest-generation mortgage performance model applications used by business units across the organization. You will participate in all the steps in the software development life cycle to create and modify the software, following Agile methodologies.


  • Develop, modify, or update code used by business units.
  • Participate in the implementation of multiple applications in a Unix/Linux environment, use Unix scripting, Perl or Python, and other languages as needed.


  • 1-3+ years assisting in the implementation of large-scale, real-time, business critical systems / software applications in a Unix environment, using Java scripting, Perl or Python.
  • One of the two contractors: experience developing web service development (not just operating in a web environment).
  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field, Master degree is preferred.
  • Required: Must have a working knowledge of the basic Unix environment; prefer someone with Unix scripting experience, or if not, at least Perl or Python.
  • For the web role, require experience in web application development and a solid understanding of web application development processes
  • Desired: JAVA, database / SQL, C / C++; knowledge of AWS computing; experience building financial systems; experience in an Agile environment.
